Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
These terms govern your use of LLH Tutor, operated by Language Learners Hub ("LLH", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms in full.
The service
LLH Tutor is an AI-powered English language tutoring tool. You submit English text, images, or voice recordings, and the service returns explanations of meaning, grammar, tone, and cultural context. Explanations are generated by a large language model (Claude, by Anthropic) and are not guaranteed to be error-free. Use your own judgement — if something seems wrong, it may be.
The service is intended to help language learners understand real-world English. It is not a substitute for formal language education, professional translation, or legal, medical, or other regulated advice.
Your account
You must provide a valid email address and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
One account per person. Do not share your account credentials or use your account on behalf of others without permission.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion permanently removes all your data.
Acceptable use
You may use LLH Tutor for personal, non-commercial language learning. You agree not to:
- Use the service to generate content for commercial redistribution
- Scrape, extract, or reverse-engineer the underlying prompts or model responses at scale
- Circumvent usage limits through technical means (multiple accounts, scripted requests, etc.)
- Submit content that is illegal or that violates the rights of others
- Place unreasonable automated load on our infrastructure
The service is designed to explain real-world English, including informal language, slang, and profanity that learners encounter in daily life. This is intentional. Explaining offensive language for genuine learning purposes is acceptable. Using the service to generate harmful content is not.
Subscriptions and billing
Free tier. The free plan allows up to 10 explanations per calendar month at no charge. The limit resets on the 1st of each month.
Paid subscriptions. Pro and Unlimited plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase. By subscribing you authorise LLH to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Cancellation. You can cancel a paid subscription at any time through the Stripe Billing Portal, accessible from your Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to your paid features until the period ends. We do not offer partial-month refunds.
7-day refund window. If you are not satisfied within the first 7 days of a new paid subscription, email us at hello@languagelearnershub.com and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.
Price changes. We will give at least 30 days notice of any price increase by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Beta trial
During the beta period, all new accounts receive 2 months of Unlimited access at no charge, with no credit card required. This is a one-time offer to help you experience the full service before committing to a subscription.
The beta trial is non-renewable and non-transferable. Each account is eligible for the trial once. If your account is cancelled or downgraded to the Free plan during or after the trial period, the remaining trial time cannot be restored and will not carry over to a new account. To continue using Pro or Unlimited features after the trial, you will need to purchase a paid subscription.
The beta period and its terms may end at any time. We will provide reasonable notice by email before the beta offer is withdrawn. Accounts whose trial has already started will complete their 2-month period unless they have cancelled or deleted their account.
We reserve the right to end the beta trial for accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms.
AI-generated content
Explanations are powered by Claude (Anthropic), a large language model that has been configured and refined by the LLH team to produce tutor-quality responses. Despite this, AI-generated content can be incorrect, incomplete, or culturally insensitive. We do not guarantee accuracy.
Explanations are provided for educational purposes only. LLH is not liable for any decisions made based on content produced by the service.
You should not rely solely on LLH Tutor for professional translation, legal interpretation, or any other context where precision is critical.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of the text, images, and recordings you submit. By submitting them you grant LLH a limited, non-exclusive licence to process them solely for the purpose of generating your explanation and improving the service.
The LLH Tutor interface, branding, system prompts, and service design are owned by Language Learners Hub. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the service without written permission.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime. We may suspend the service temporarily for maintenance or updates, and will do our best to give advance notice when planned downtime is significant.
Service availability depends in part on third-party providers (Anthropic, Stripe, our hosting provider). Outages caused by third parties are outside our control.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice in serious cases. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any unused prepaid subscription time.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LLH is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, lost profits, or harm resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50 — whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
